Designed and manufactured by WH Bence for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, the Incident Support Unit is a self-contained operational facility built on a DAF FA XB 190 4×2 rigid chassis. The insulated GRP box body provides a practical environment for supporting crews during extended incidents, with a main support area, dedicated quiet/prayer room, kitchenette and two externally accessed WCs. Four hydraulic levelling legs stabilise the vehicle on site, while the IFM control system manages key body functions and provides visual and audible warnings for deployed equipment.
The unit can operate independently from its 9 kW super-silent diesel generator or connect to an external 32 A landline, with a 16 A park-up supply, inverter support and twin 200 Ah lithium batteries maintaining essential systems. Heating and cooling are provided by air conditioning, an Eberspächer heater and dedicated extraction, while two motorised awnings create additional sheltered working areas on either side of the vehicle. The on-board water system includes a 250-litre fresh-water tank, black-water storage, kitchen and WC handwashing facilities, an external fold-out handwash point, and a dedicated bootwash basin with brushes.

- Emergency visibility: 360° blue warning lights, grille and sun-visor-mounted blue lights, four-tone siren and eight external scene lights
