Work starts on fire control unit
New Command and Control Unit for Royal Berkshire
WH Bence have started work on a fully bespoke Command and Control unit for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The multi-million pound unit was commissioned by Royal Berkshire to meet the latest emergency services legislation under the Civil Contingencies Act. The unit will measure nine metres in length and will include the latest satellite and communications technology. It will be used as the county’s major incident unit, offering additional support not just to the Fire and Rescue Service, but other emergency services agencies.

The work starts just as Bence has handed over a smaller, van-derived unit for Royal Berkshire. The vehicle provides a flexible solution as a community liaison vehicle and first response command and control unit. Click here for case study
