Medical Mobility

WH Bence have rapidly become market leaders for mobile breast screening units in the UK and Ireland and are also setting the standard for the latest digital units. Their ability to create highly flexible, quality-built screening facilities has brought orders from both NHS and independent healthcare providers for a range of mobile medical and diagnostic solutions.   These fall into three main categories:

Screening

Mobile mammography, audiology and retinopathy units are amongst the mobile spaces created by Bence.  As well as incorporating the screening technology itself, each unit includes:

  • Air conditioning to clinical standards
  • Design to meet infection control standards
  • Integrated power supply
  • Reception area
  • Consultation rooms
  • Changing rooms (where required)
  • Sound-proofing
  • Environment-proof storage

Scanning

The ability to rapidly move and set-up scanning facilities is becoming vital to meet increasing demand. Bence have successfully built units for DEXA, CT and X-Ray scanning.  Insulation and vibration reduction is essential for such sensitive technology - both during transportation and in use.  As well as the technology itself and similar support equipment to our screening units, Bence mobile scanning units also include:

  • Comfortable waiting and working environments
  • Isolated operator areas
  • Equipment cooling systems

Diagnostics

Bence have created mobile spaces for a range of diagnostic needs, such as Endoscopy and Angiography facilities.  These units combine up to three vehicles and the latest hydraulic technology to create the equivalent of an entire static hospital department.  As well as all the facilities provided for Screening and Scanning vehicles, diagnostic units include:

  • Sterile and sterilisation areas
  • Expandable operating areas with specialised flooring and lighting
  • Recovery area for up to three beds
