WH Bence's expert designers, fabricators and finishers are lead by three Directors and supported by the administration team.
James Brown - Managing Director
In 1982 James was an expert coachbuilder working for on of the South West's leading specialist vehicle companies. When the company went into receivership, putting James out of work, he decided to launch his own company. Using the 6000sq ft coach painting shop of the former Longwell Green Coachworks, a loan from Barclays Bank, six coachbuilders and two painters, James went into business and WH Bence was born.
Since then, James has grown the company into one of Europe's leading specialist vehicle manufacturers, with its own fabrication and maintenance sites. The quality race support and hospitality units produced by Bence are a reflection of James' own passion for motorsport, an interest that is shared by his eldest son, Oliver, who is Bence's Hospitality and Events Manager.
Richard Fearn - Design Director
Richard was one of the original team to join James Brown's newly formed company. With a background in specialist vehicle design, Richard has created a wide range of vehicles - from mobile palaces to fully equipped medical units. Along with his design role,
Richard also oversees Bence's accreditation processes for both staff and products. This includes ISO9001 and BenchmarQ standards.
Huw Owen - Business Development Director
The newest member of the management team, Huw has a background in Medical Diagnostics having held senior managment positions with Cardinal Healthcare and InHealth Diagnostics. During his time at these companies he led several key projects which established the companies as market leaders in their specialist fields.
Huw has a wealth of experience of mobile facilities and has experience of purchasing specialist equipment including specialist mobile units prior to joining Bence. Since joining the company, Huw has helped to develop Bence as the leading provider of mobile mammography units in the UK and Ireland. He will continue to develop the company and further establish Bence as a market leader in the design and build of innovative mobile facilities.
Like James, Huw shares a passion for motorsport with experience as both a rally driver and kart racer.
